Jovanka Drugovac Jones was born in Skopje, Macedonia on 24th August 1958.
Her sphere of scholarly interest is literary history, literary criticism, essay literature and translation.
- She was the first Director of the Institute of Macedonian Literature.
- She is the author of 7 books and 13 anthologies.
- She is the author of over 200 essays and reviews from Macedonian and Serbian literature.
- She has taken part in over 30 scholarly conferences worldwide.
- She has organisied many scholarly conferences in Macedonia.
- She has been active in numerous scholarly projects.
- She led a project by the Twentieth Century Department of the Institute of Macedonian Literature.
- She was the Head of Department of Bibliography and Documentation of the Institute of Macedonian Literature.
- From 1999 to 2005 she was a member of the Chancellery of the “St Kiril and Metodij” University in Skopje, a member of the Council of the International Macedonian Language, Literature and Culture Seminar.
- She is a visiting Professor at Universities worldwide.
- She is the author of numerous conclusions and editor of a large number of important publications.
She is married with 2 children. She is presently living in Spain where she continue to write
